My all-time favorite item that we received from our baby registry is our stroller. The Mockingbird single-to-double stroller. This thing is a powerhouse! People ask me about my stroller almost as often as they comment on having multiple babies.  That’s right, the all too obvious, “You have your hands full!”

The Mockingbird folds down with one hand, has multiple positions for the kids, and will continue to grow with our family. It’s also the width of a single stroller, which makes it very easy to maneuver in tight spaces like parking lots and grocery store aisles. The beauty of the Mockingbird system is how easily things can move and change. The stroller comes with toddler seats, but we knew we would need to use the stroller before they were toddlers. So, we purchased several accessories to modify the stroller to our needs. You can see all of the different accessories we purchased and how we used them below.

The infant inserts for the toddler seats. The infant inserts for the toddler seats meant we could take advantage of the lay flat feature while the boys were napping. Naps in car seats always looked so uncomfortable, even when they were little. By purchasing the infant inserts, we allowed ourselves the option of using the toddler seats when we would be out for longer stretches of time. (Hello, Walt Disney World!) The wedges in the kit provided support so the babies could lay in comfortable positions and the additional padding meant they weren’t sliding around in the harness every time we moved the stroller.

The car seat adapter. We were able to use the stroller from the first day we brought the babies home by using the car seat adapter. They have adapters for many different car seat brands, and you can find the one that fits through their incredibly helpful resources on the website.

The parent organizer has 3 open pockets and a zipper pocket allowing for endless configurations of drinks/snacks. We use the smaller open pockets to hold our adult drinks and the middle section for the twins’ waters and snacks. The zipper pocket is full of odds and ends like band-aids, lip-balm, coins, pen, and wet wipes. This helps keep things contained and helps me to stop overfilling my diaper bag. I am 100% the type-A, prepared for anything kind of person. All of the pockets make me sooo happy.

Some of the other standard features that we love are the:

The extendable canopy! This canopy almost reaches the edge of the toddler seat, giving them the most UPF protection (50+)! Which is a must for all babies and young children. They come in lots of beautiful color/pattern options. Living in Florida, it also helps keep the rain off of them while making a quick run. They do have a rain cover that you can purchase for each individual seat which allows for maximum coverage. No soggy baby sneakers or trying to hold an umbrella across an entire stroller while also attempting to walk and move the stroller forward. We need more hands!

The bottom basket can hold up to 25 pounds which makes quick trips to the store a breeze. There is plenty of room for a full-size diaper bag and then some. On our theme park days, we also bring umbrellas, jackets, baby carriers, and more in the bottom of our stroller. The hidden pocket also means you can place items safe and out of sight.

The one-handed fold! That’s right! You can fold this thing down with one hand! This makes folding it down and into the back of a vehicle happen in a snap. I go out alone with my kids, a lot, and I’m always worried about leaving them in the car too long while I put everything away. This quick folding feature gets me back in the car quickly. I have seen some of the videos online of parents trying to fold strollers, and while it is very entertaining;  this easy fold feature is a breeze. You’ll be nailing the one-handed fold in no time.

Mockingbird has an amazing new program that connects prospective buyers with current families that can “host” a stroller demo. You can meet with them and see the stroller in person, ask questions, and make a new mom friend in the process. Is there anything Mockingbird can’t do?! They truly are the best!
